Open to all persons who satisfy our "Common Bond"

If you live with a family member, who is already a member, then you may also be eligible for membership of our Credit Union.

Joining is easy.

Just call to our office and complete the appropriate application form. Our Staff will help you with any queries you may have.

Please bring the following with you:

Photo I.D. (e.g. passport or drivers licence).

• Proof of Address dated within 3 months of application (e.g. utility bill, letter from school or work etc.)
• Proof of PPS Number (e.g. drug scheme card, medical card etc.)
• When you join Mitchelstown Credit Union, you become a member, not a customer. You have a democratic say in the future of your Credit Union – one member, one vote – regardless of how much or how little you save in the Credit Union. You enjoy the Benefits of Membership, including attractive savings, loans and insurances, subject to fair Terms and Conditions.
   

Rights and Responsibilities of Members

As a member you have a right to a say in how your Credit Union is run. The best way to exercise this right is to attend the Annual General Meeting, where you have one vote, no matter how many or how few shares (savings) you have.

As one of the owners of the Credit Union, you have a right to know how it is being run and how it is performing. With this right comes the responsibility to contribute to the effective and fair running of the Credit Union. Members are urged to attend the General Meetings, contribute to discussions about Credit Union matters and, with care, elect to office people who will have the general good of the membership at heart. Members are also encouraged to become involved in the day-to-day running of the Credit Union as volunteers.
